We are receiving many requests and suggestions regarding the CamCarDer functionality. Two most common requests are – add a map to main screen (to be able to navigate while recording video) and to dim the main screen while in use (to reduce device heating due to backlit LED use). In this new release we added features to resolve both requests!

Map is easily retractable tab on the left – when you need it just press Menu icon on a tab popping our at the left edge on the screen. To put it back – click map icon again. Other controls will adjust accordingly.

Dimming control was added to a top bar. Press on it and screen will go almost dark (you will vaguely see controls there, but backlit LEDs will be dimmed to bare minimum). Tap anywhere on a dark screen to bring app back to full light. While dimmed, we stop updating graphics to reduce power consumption (and, hence, heating) even further. Graphics will resume when us bring screen back to normal light.

Another useful change – the Start / Stop buttons now have a color. It is very apparent if app is in recording (button is red) or standby mode (button is green).
